Fall "Guided" Pumpkin Tour 2016

Spookley is back this fall at Pinehaven Farm!

We are excited and happy to announce that Pinehaven Farm has been selected to be the exclusive regional site to host the nationally recognized “Spookley the square pumpkin” program. With October being National Bullying Prevention Month, Spookley is the official Spokes-Pumpkin, to help raise awareness for bullying prevention. Spookley will be featured during both September and October at Pinehaven to help our younger visitors understand the importance of being tolerant and kind. Both children and teachers LOVE this addition to our Fall “Guided” Field Trips which have always been much more than just “a trip to the pumpkin patch.”

At this time we are booking our fall schedule for 2016 for groups of 20 or more. Our Fall “Guided” Field Trips are available Monday through Friday mornings, Sept 26-Oct 31. Because of their popularity, we had to set start times of either 9:30 or 11:00. There is a limited number that we can take at each time, so make your reservation early! During this very hand’s on tour, our knowledgeable staff will guide each tour through the barnyard to meet our large selection of friendly farm animals. Food for the animals will be provided to children interested in feeding and petting them. There will also be a tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch where everyone (children and adults) can select a “child-size” pie pumpkin to take home. The Spookley story will be incorporated into your tour.

Upon arrival at the farm, we will divide your group, if necessary, and rotate stations so that everyone has time to enjoy the different activities. Please allow 90 minutes for your tour. As always, you are welcome to stay afterwards (1 hour should be plenty of additional time) and have lunch in our covered picnic shelter or let the kids play before returning home. Please note that after your guided tour you will not be with our staff and there be other groups and/or families at the farm. Supervision of the children by adults will be necessary.

PROGRAM COST:
$8.00 per person for all children and adults (Tax will be added if your group is not tax exempt)

*No coupons, season passes or other offers are valid for school or group tours

*Complimentary admission for teachers and paid school staff (we allow 1 free for every 10 paid)

New:  "Teacher Led" Pumpkin tour

This is a little cheaper option for some of our groups and may allow more flexibility in our schedules on dates that previously we would not have been able to take your group.  This is also an option for groups that have 10 - 19 people.  You will do all the same activities just on your own schedule.  It also allows more flexibility in start times and everyone still goes to the pumpkin patch just like the guided tour. The "Teacher led" tour is $7.50 per person. (Tax will be added if your group is not tax exempt.)

*No coupons, season passes or other offers are valid for school or group tours

*Complimentary admission for teachers and paid school staff (we allow 1 free for every 10 paid)

"ON YOUR OWN" Afternoon Field Trip Option at Pinehaven Farm

Bring your class out to Pinehaven between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on any Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday from Sept 26th thru Oct 301st 2016 for a great field trip that is so much more than just a trip to a “Pumpkin Patch.” For only $7.00 per person your group will be able to explore the farm on your own schedule. (Tax will be added if your group is not tax exempt.) You will not be with a member of our staff during your stay. Your group can do as many of the following as time allows:

  • Explore our New 5-acre Corn Maze - Note:  It is recommended that you allow  at least 45 minutes for this activity and ALL children must be supervised!
  • Visit our Kritter Koral to meet some of our friendly Kritters (we have several that are on the Rare and Endangered Farms Breeds list) There are quarter machines with feed for the animals.
  • Watch our amazing Pumpkin Cannon (at scheduled times)
  • Play in several different areas of the farm (they will LOVE the new Jumping Pillow!)
  • Try to find their way through our Mazes!
  • Take the Barnyard Train Ride (at schedules times)
  • Take pictures at our many photo opportunities around the farm.
  • Ride our tractor pulled wagon out to the pumpkin patch. Unlike our a.m. “guided farm experience trip,” a pumpkin is not included in the cost of this field trip. Your group is certainly welcome to go on the ride to the pumpkin patch as part of your stay (maybe make it fun with a “hunt for the great pumpkin.”) If someone wishes to purchase pumpkins from the patch, they would pay the per pound cost before you leave the farm, OR, if your group wants to take home pumpkins, we will have a special wagon with pie pumpkins (the ones usually used for our tours) for the children to select from right before they leave. These are available at a special field trip price of only $1.00 per pumpkin!

The same teacher offset applies (minimum of 10 paid for free teacher.) Reservations are required.
